Nickel and Tarot

Nickel (a copper mini mare) and Tarot (a fleabitten grey arab gelding) were rescued from a farm in Allegan county on July 21, 2004. They had been living in a large pasture with a herd of cattle and were neglected. The had not received dewormer for seven years and they had foundered from eating the same lush grass as the herd of cattle. Tarot's hooves were breaking off on the sides, and Nickel's hooves looked like curvy and pointy elf shoes. Both horses have received dewormer and their hooves have been trimmed by Karrie, our talented farrier. Nickel and Tarot are expected to make a full recovery thanks to the rehabilitation efforts of Grateful Acres and its supporters!
